Dr. Vladimir Alexander has over two decades of orthopedic experience and is the founding partner of Alexander Orthopaedic Associates. He's also the founder of the AEC Learning Center, a training facility for the education of physicians on the latest surgical techniques. He is board-certified and recertified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Alexander specializes in disorders and treatments of the major, large joints: hip, knee and shoulder. He is one of the few surgeons to perform total joint replacement and Birmingham Hip Resurfacing surgeries on an outpatient basis.

Dr. Alexander graduated cum laude from John Carroll University and earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine with honors in orthopedic surgery. He completed his surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at The Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland. He served as Chief Resident of The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at The University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham.

At the completion of his residency, Dr. Alexander obtained additional hand and upper extremity training at The Cleveland Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital, an affiliate of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

An expert in his field, Dr. Alexander has conducted orthopedic surgery presentations and lectures across the country. He has also authored and co-authored numerous articles.

Dr. Alexander is an orthopedic device and implant consultant for Smith & Nephew, Biomet, and Ortho Development Corporation. He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Dr. Alexander resides in St. Petersburg with his wife and children.

Dr. Daniel Penello has been serving the Tampa Bay community for over a decade. He is board-certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is fellowship-trained in Hand and Upper Extremity surgery and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complicated disorders of the hand, wrist and elbow.

Dr. Penello graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at York University in Toronto, Canada. He earned his medical degree from The University of Toronto with honors in 2002 and he was admitted to the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at The University of Toronto where he was recognized for his academic achievement and teaching ability. Throughout his training and career, Dr. Penello has received several awards for outstanding performance and Humanitarianism. His ability to successfully treat complex conditions using leading-edge techniques and state-of-the-art technology garnered him recognition as Top Doctor in 2012 and 2020 for Surgery of the Hands and Upper Extremities.

His dedication to health policy, process improvement and commercialization of medical devices led him to receive a Health Sector MBA at The Rotman School of Management in Toronto during his residency. He then completed a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Penello has been involved with numerous research projects. He has also authored and co-authored publications in the United States and Canada. With a strong desire to help the community, Dr. Penello and his family are strong supporters of many local charitable organizations including The Kind Mouse, Alpha House and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Adam Perler is an advanced podiatric surgeon whose practice focuses primarily on trauma, pediatric foot, and ankle problems, sports & dance medicine, peripheral nerve disorders, advanced adult reconstruction, 3-D printing, and total ankle joint replacement. With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Perler has performed hundreds of ankle replacements, ankle fusions, ankle deformity corrections, triple arthrodesis, subtalar fusions, and flatfoot reconstructions. He is board-certified in both Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Perler has been extensively trained on all available total ankles on the market and is one of a few select surgeons who are on the ankle replacement design team for Zimmer/Biomet. In addition, he currently has three patents on his ankle replacement design. He was also the first surgeon in the state of Florida to perform a custom 3-D printed partial ankle replacement and was the first one in the country to do a custom printed ankle from an anterior approach. Dr. Perler has also recently started the first Foot & Ankle Fellowship training program in the area.

Dr. Perler is fully engaged in new product innovation holding several national and international patents and has several innovations that are in the process of coming to the market. He is involved in new product development from the onset of practice and co-founded InMotus Medical, a company that specializes in medical device conceptual development and incubation, and assists other surgeons in developing new groundbreaking medical technologies.

Dr. Zahrai is a fellowship trained, dual board certified, Spine Surgeon. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC). His clinical interests include disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He specializes in robotic and minimally invasive spine surgery.

Dr. Zahrai grew up in Toronto, Canada where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto with honors. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. He completed Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Toronto where he received numerous awards for academic excellence and research. He was then accepted into the prestigious Surgeon-Scientist Program, obtaining a Master of Science degree with his research focusing on patient education and outcomes in spine surgery. After residency, Dr. Zahrai completed the highly respected Emory University Spine Fellowship in Atlanta, Georgia.

After fellowship training, his devotion to patient care, teaching and research brought him to the University of New Mexico where he served as an Assistant Professor of Spine Surgery. Dr. Zahrai moved to Florida in 2013. Dr. Zahrai has served as a member of the Spine Surgery Faculty at Nova Southeastern University where he teaches Orthopaedic Surgery Residents at Largo Medical Center. Dr. Zahrai was selected to teach and train other Spine surgeons across the country in the field of Robotic surgery. He is also currently the Medical Director of the Spine Program at Largo Medical Center.

Dr. Jennifer Swaringen is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine. She has been practicing in Pinellas and Pasco counties since 2008. The focus of her practice is general orthopaedic and fracture care, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee, as well as total knee replacement.

Dr. Swaringen received both her Bachelor of Science and Medical Degree at Emory University in Atlanta. She completed her General Surgery internship and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at University of Michigan. She subsequently went on to complete her sports medicine fellowship at Minnesota Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Institue in Minneapolis. While there she learned specialized techniques in hip arthroscopy, including labral tear repair and femoroacetabular impingement surgery; shoulder arthroscopy, including rotator cuff repair; as well as knee arthroscopy for meniscus and ACL tears.

Dr. Swaringen's greatest source of contentment is getting to know her patients and their needs, helping them to recover from their injuries and find their path to feeling better. She spends her time away from work with her husband and two children. Her hobbies include wellness, running and yoga.

Dr. Thomas Odmark has been providing high quality orthopaedic surgical services in Pinellas and Pasco counties for over a decade. He is board certified and recertified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed an orthopaedic foot and ankle fellowship following his orthopaedic surgery residency and has a practice focused on treating problems of the foot and ankle from the simple to the complex. His foot and ankle interests include adult and adolescent trauma and fracture care, sports injuries, arthritic disease of the foot and ankle, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, total ankle replacement, diabetic foot and ankle care, and bunion and hammertoe surgery.

Dr. Odmark graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He completed his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati. He then completed an orthopaedic surgery foot and ankle fellowship in Cincinnati before moving to the Tampa Bay Area to start his orthopaedic surgical practice.

Dr. Scott Vizzi is a native South Floridian where in childhood he committed to an active sports lifestyle that led to his career in Sports Medicine. Helping fellow athletes of all ages maintain a healthy and active lifestyle inspired his focus on arthroscopic and total joint procedures for shoulder, hip, and knee disorders.

Dr. Vizzi graduated from The University of Michigan, then earned his medical degree with honors in orthopedic surgery from The Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Kansas Medical center. After residency, Dr. Vizzi trained in a fellowship for advanced arthroscopy and total joint replacement at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Throughout his medical training, he also worked at multiple trauma centers repairing adult and geriatric patients’ traumatic orthopedic injuries.

Dr. Vizzi is certified in Mako Robotic assisted surgery for joint reconstruction. He is also certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Dr. Vizzi also shares his knowledge in frequent lectures about orthopedic surgery at both national and regional conferences, and in multiple publications for his research in the field of orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Adam Kopiec is fellowship-trained in the diagnosis and management of orthopedic disorders of the hand, shoulder and elbow. His training has emphasized the most up-to-date treatments, including specialized arthroscopic techniques, joint replacement, resurfacing procedures, and complex upper-extremity care for work-related and sports injuries.

Dr. Kopiec grew up in San Diego, CA.  He completed his undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and went on to obtain his medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science where he also obtained two masters in Healthcare Administration and Biomedical Sciences.  Dr. Kopiec completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Marshall University where he published multiple papers on a variety of topics in Orthopaedics.  After residency Dr. Kopiec went on to a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the prestigious Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center through Thomas Jefferson University.

Dr Kopiec grew up in Southern California where he not only excelled as a student, but also as an athlete. As a standout catcher and pitcher throughout high school and college, Dr Kopiec sustained numerous injuries to his hands and upper extremity. It was that experience that led him to pursue a career in orthopedics, but more specifically, to specialize in disorders of the hand and upper extremity.

Dr Kopiec believes that patient care must be individualized  and is committed to tailoring every patient’s treatment plan to their unique needs.

Dr. Jonathan Dattilo is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee joint replacement surgery (arthroplasty). He has special surgical expertise in minimally-invasive surgery, anterior total hip replacement, computer navigation, and outpatient (same-day) surgery. In fact, Dr. Dattilo was recently named by Becker's Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASC) Review as one of the 10 Total Joint ASC Physicians to Know.

Dr. Dattilo has also completed advanced sub-specialty training in complex hip and knee disorders and revision (re-do) hip and knee replacements.

Additionally, Dr. Dattilo has a strong academic background having trained at some of the top institutions, including medical school at Johns Hopkins, residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and finally an additional year of advanced hip and knee reconstruction at the world-renowned Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute.

As a result, Dr. Dattilo continues to collaborate on research projects with fellow experts in joint replacement surgery across the country. He has authored over 45 publications including 20 surgical technique videos, published multiple textbook chapters, and routinely presents at national and international conferences.

His specific research interests include advanced pain protocols to minimize addictive narcotics after surgery, patient education, social media in orthopedics, and emerging technologies in joint replacement surgery. Most recently, he is helping to develop a virtual reality program to teach surgeons and trainees across the country how to perform minimally-invasive anterior hip replacement surgery.

Dr. Dattilo feels strongly that these efforts are not only important to train the next generation of surgeons, but moreover that by collaborating in research, he can deliver the most cutting-edge care to his patients.

Originally a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Dattilo is an avid football fan and also enjoys golf, biking, and ice hockey.

Dr. Nalley is a fellowship trained spine surgeon. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). His clinical interests include all aspects of the spine - cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders including the pelvis / sacroiliac joint. His treatment interests and specialties include operative and non-operative treatment of the spine, and surgical interests include robotic and computer navigated spine surgery.

Additionally, his practice includes minimally invasive surgical techniques, artificial disc replacement, fusion and non-fusion surgical options, and interventional pain management procedures including epidurals, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), spinal cord stimulation, and dorsal root ganglion stimulation procedures.

Dr. Nalley was born and raised in Arkansas.  He attended the University of Arkansas where he majored in Industrial Engineering and graduated cum laude with a Mathematics minor. While in college, Dr. Nalley was 4-year football letterman and was a team captain for the 2002 SEC Western Division Champion Arkansas Razorbacks. After college, he worked in the natural gas industry as an engineer before he returned to medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Nalley completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of South Florida. After residency, he completed his spine surgery fellowship at the world renown Texas Back Institute (Plano, TX).

Since completing his fellowship in 2015, Dr. Nalley has been proud to serve as a surgeon in his community. He genuinely enjoys getting to know his patients and working to meet their quality of life needs. Dr. Nalley is a strong advocate for conservative treatment modalities and therapies, but he is a willing surgical partner for those in need of more aggressive help to resolve their pain.

When Dr. Nalley is not at work, he cherishes his time with his wife and children. His hobbies include attending endless sporting events for his kids, cooking, weightlifting, jogging, golfing, fishing, movies and reading. Go Hogs!

Dr. John Constantino, DPM AACFAS is a skilled foot and ankle surgeon with a strong background in elective reconstructive surgery, sports medicine and trauma. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University – Hawaii majoring in Biology.

He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree at Des Moines University. He then went on to complete his residency in Podiatric Medicine & Surgery with Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Credentialing at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA, where he was appointed a Clinical Fellow in Surgery at Harvard Medical School.

He furthered his training by completing the Innovative Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship with Alexander Orthopaedic Associates, an ACFAS-accredited fellowship program. During his fellowship, he focused on advanced surgical techniques including 3D printed custom implants, arthroscopy, complex trauma and total ankle replacements.

Additionally, Dr. Constantino has a passion for research resulting in multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and national lectures. In addition to his academic accomplishments, he is an active member of several health professional organizations, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the Florida Foot and Ankle Fellowship Society.

Originally born and raised in Manila, Philippines, he currently resides in St. Petersburg, FL with his wife and 3 children. Dr. Constantino is an avid tennis and pickleball player, but also enjoys golf, playing music and serving in his church. His goal is to provide a safe and collaborative environment for his patients to deliver the highest quality of care.

Dr. Constantino is Forefoot and Rearfoot Qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, Dr. Mundy attended Lee University where he received his bachelor’s degree. He went on to study medicine at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. After completion of medical training, he moved to Columbus, Ohio where he completed his orthopedic training at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. After residency, he briefly practiced as a General Orthopedist in Ohio and then elected to sub-specialize in orthopedic sports medicine at the prestigious Andrew’s Sports Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama under the leadership of Dr. James Andrews.

While in Birmingham, he provided care for local high school and college athletes. He was the orthopedic team physician for The University of West Alabama, providing care to athletes across all sports. He also served and provided team coverage for the University of Alabama athletics, including the 2021 NCAA National Championship Football team. In addition to his collegiate responsibilities, he was involved in the care of numerous professional athletes across the MLB, NFL, and NBA, as well as, locally providing care for athletes with U.S.A. Gymnastics, the Alabama Ballet, and the Chicago White Sox AA-Affiliate, the Birmingham Barons.

Since completion of fellowship, Dr. Mundy has been serving the greater Sarasota area alongside his wife, Nicole, and two children, Landon and Leia. He enjoys travel and participates in numerous recreational sports, with a passion for baseball, golf, and football.
