The Alexander Outpatient Advantage

The Alexander Outpatient Advantage

At Alexander Orthopaedic Associates, we specialize in taking care of all of our patients’ needs. Thanks to our outpatient surgery center we offer a unique opportunity for patients to recover in the comfort of their own home. We take pride in our ability provide a comprehensive approach to our patients’ orthopedic care.

Depending on a patient’s injury, we may recommend outpatient surgery at one of our state-of-the-art surgery centers. We then offer physical rehabilitation in our Therapy Department with our highly trained rehabilitation team. At Alexander Orthopaedics, our patients always receive world-class care from the moment they step through our doors.

Heal Faster and Stronger with Direct Anterior Approach

Our Direct Anterior Approach for Hip Replacements is a minimally invasive surgical technique. During this procedure, your surgeon can access your hip joint without cutting tissue or detaching tendons.  Unlike other procedures, this technique allows for the preservation of the soft tissue around your hip joint which means immediate stability following surgery and a lower risk for future dislocation.

We also provide Zip® Surgical Skin Closure as a fast, non-invasive alternative to staples, sutures and glue. This device is adjustable, reversible and makes skin closure fast. The flexible design moves with patients’ daily motions for comfort and protection.

We are able to give our patients one-of-a-kind specialized treatment that they may not receive in many other places. We show our patients that they come first by bringing our medical and therapy team to them in the comfort of their own home.

How the Alexander Outpatient Advantage Works

First, a patient will have an appointment with one of our highly trained and specialized physicians. If the patient has made the decision for surgery, he or she will be in constant contact with our outpatient total joint liaison as well as our office staff. They will take the patient step by step through the entire process.

From here, our mobile therapy team will prep your home for safety precautions. At the time of surgery, the patient will stay in our state-of-the-art facility for a few hours to recover and then a staff member will accompany the patient home to ensure an easy transition. The day following surgery, our mobile and medical therapy team will come to the patient’s home to evaluate he or she. We are enthusiastic about restoring our patients’ health and lifestyle, which is why we are with our patients every step of the way through their recovery process.
