Bio
Dr. Daniel Penello has been serving the Tampa Bay community for over a decade. He is board-certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Penello graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at York University in Toronto, Canada. He earned his medical degree from The University of Toronto with honors in 2002. He was admitted to the esteemed Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at The University of Toronto where he was recognized for his academic achievement and teaching ability. Throughout his training and career, Dr. Penello has received several awards for outstanding performance, and Humanitarianism. His ability to successfully treat complex conditions using leading-edge techniques and state-of-the-art technology garnered him recognition as Top Doctor in 2012 and 2020 for Surgery of the Hands and Upper Extremities.
His dedication to health policy, process improvement and commercialization of medical devices led him to receive a Health Sector MBA at The Rotman School of Management in Toronto during his residency. He then completed a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Penello has been involved with numerous research projects. He has also authored and co-authored publications in the United States and Canada.
With a strong desire to help the community, Dr. Penello and his family are strong supporters of many local charitable organizations including The Kind Mouse, Alpha House and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
