Bio

Dr. Scott Vizzi is a native South Floridian where in childhood he committed to an active sports lifestyle that led to his career in Sports Medicine. Helping fellow athletes of all ages maintain a healthy and active lifestyle inspired his focus on arthroscopic and total joint procedures for shoulder, hip, and knee disorders. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Vizzi graduated from The University of Michigan, then earned his medical degree with honors in orthopedic surgery from The Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Kansas Medical center. After residency, Dr. Vizzi trained in a fellowship for advanced arthroscopy and total joint replacement at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Throughout his medical training, he also worked at multiple trauma centers repairing adult and geriatric patients’ traumatic orthopedic injuries.

Dr. Vizzi is certified in Mako Robotic-assisted surgery for joint reconstruction. He is also certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Dr. Vizzi also shares his knowledge in frequent lectures about orthopedic surgery at both national and regional conferences, and in multiple publications for his research in the field of orthopedic surgery.
