Adult Reconstruction Fellowship

Our Mission

The primary goal of the fellowship experience is to provide enhanced training in the diagnosis and management of hip and knee disorders. The fellow will spend time with 4 arthroplasty surgeons in the clinic, hospital, and ambulatory surgery center. Fellows will also have dedicated training in the business of running a busy private practice and successful ambulatory surgery center.

Hip

  • Direct anterior and posterior primary arthroplasty
  • Direct anterior and posterior revision arthroplasty
  • Computer navigation
  • Same-day total hip arthroplasty in an ambulatory surgery center

Knee

  • Unicompartmental and total knee arthroplasty
  • Cruciate-retaining and posterior stabilized prosthetic designs
  • Computer navigation and robotics
  • Aseptic and infected revision knee arthroplasty
  • Same-day knee arthroplasty in an ambulatory surgery center

Education

  • Weekly pre-operative planning with attendings
  • Weekly reading conferences with structured didactic program
  • Cadaver labs
  • Journal clubs with local residency program
  • Quarterly M&M conferences
  • Quarterly dinners discussing the logistics and financial aspects of running a private practice and ambulatory surgery center
  • Attendance at American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) fall meeting

Location

 Our practice is located in St. Petersburg and Largo, Florida. Downtown St. Petersburg is a vibrant, culturally-rich city with abundant bars, restaurants, and arts. Just 15 minutes from beautiful beaches and 20 minutes from downtown Tampa Bay, there are endless opportunities to explore during your year with our practice.
