Bio

Dr. Woods is a board certified Anesthesiologist and has been in private practice since 2001. He grew up in Orlando, FL and is a native Floridian.

Dr. Woods obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Florida State University in 1984. After a brief career in software development and hardware-telecommunications, he was accepted into medical school in 1993.

He received his Medical degree from the University of Florida in 1997, then completed an internship in Internal Medicine in Denver, CO, followed by a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Woods begin his career in Orlando in 2001 and then transitioned to St. Petersburg/Largo area in 2002. He has been on staff at Largo Medical Center, Bayfront Medical Center, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills, Palms of Pasadena Hospital, Manatee Memorial Hospital, and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center. He has also been on staff at many Ambulatory Surgery Centers throughout the Tampa/St. Petersburg area.

Dr. Woods’ initial area of expertise was Cardiac Anesthesiology and he served as Director of Cardiac Anesthesiology at Bayfront Medical Center. Later, he transitioned to developing skills in ultrasound guided regional anesthesia, which now constitutes the majority of his practice.
